RAM Recalls Trucks in response to Parking Brake Issue

As a driver, when you think of the durability and rugged performance that RAM trucks are known for, you probably don't think of safety first. Instead, you picture hauling heavy loads. Rest assured; the popular American pickup manufacturer has you covered, even when you're moving mountains. In fact, they team up with the gurus at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to monitor the integrity of the vehicles throughout their lifespan.

With that said, we want to help spread the word regarding a recent recall from the American brand for approximately 6,500 trucks under the 2013 RAM 1500 nameplate.

So, what's the problem with the new trucks?

The issue at hand affects their parking brake. To be specific, a cable within the system may not have been properly connected allowing the truck to rollaway unattended when parked at a 20 percent grade. Happily, there have been no injuries or accidents as a result of the defective parking brake.

Although recalls can easily conjure negative connotations, it's important to remember that they're done to ensure everyone's safety. Not to mention, the maintenance won't cost you a dime.
